Uzbekistan declared its sovereignty on the date of 20th June 1990 and its independency on the date of 1st September 1991. Uzbekistan is governed with the regime of republic.
The Republic of Uzbekistan is located in the centre of Central Asia within the savanna that was created by the Ceyhun and Seyhun Rivers and the Lake Aral and the western skirts of the Tien Shan Mountains. It is neighbouring Kazakhstan in the north and northwest, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the east and southeast, Turkmenistan in the southwest and Afghanistan in the south.
Uzbekistan that is the geographical and cultural centre of the entire Turkestan has an exclusive control on the future with its population of nearly 22 millions. Actually, the political stability of the Central Asia depends on Uzbekistan. The homogeneous structure of population provides the domestic stability of Uzbekistan. Tashkent is the most developed forth city of the Soviet Union following Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev. Ferghana covers the regions that have the highest density of population in the Central Asia. The tribes composed of crowded families are dominant in this region.
