KASIMS PRESS CONFERENCE
General Kasım organized a press conference on 28 Temmuz 1959.Kasım reproaching the people who organized the Massacre of Kerkük said that .This action,organised in Kerkük against Turks,is the vilest murder and he declared that even fascists didnt make such a bad wildness.Than he showed the fotographes taken during the event to journalists.After a period of time Davud al-Cenabi who is the head responsible person of the massacre of Kerkük and 260 people were arrested.The ringleaders judped in military court were condemned to capital punishment.The rests were convicted to prison. Although the others were criminal, they were released.Besides,the people convicted to capital punishment werent executed during the Kasıms management. The government allowed the murderer to wonder freely.Because of this event Turkish people had started toget furious.Meanwhile,The nationalist groups were made responsible for massacre and mutual accusings were started to be done between communists and nationalists in press of Iraq.The Nationalists who defend the rights of Turks,published strict articles,which declare that communists bother the public of Iraq and kill brutually innocent Turk citizens in Kerkük,in al-Facrül Cedid jaurnal.
To prevent the Turks to agitate for Kerkük events,Press Conference concerning with this subject were prevented.In the meantime,on 21 October 1959 according to the Council of Ministers decision any kind of picture,film and poet which was concerned with end of the Massacre in Kerkük on 14-16 July 1959 were prohibited to enter Turkey.
