The lands and the subjects were divided and shared among the members of the dynasty of the khan and the princes as feoffs. The princes that possessed feoffs upon the assignation of the khans would collect the taxes on their own and in return for these feoffs, they were obliged to be present for military service personally and to take the proper amount of soldiers in proportion with the degree of their feoffs. The princes would participate in a military expedition under the flag peculiar to their tribal beys (the big tribes would use several flags). Some of the lands were given to the people that were not the members of aristocracy as feoffs providing that these lands would be cultivated in the name of the khan. According to the observations of Evliya Çelebi in the century XVII, the princes would generally have their Christian slaves to cultivate their lands and number of these people were approximately hundred thousands in this period.
