EFFORTS BY NAZIM TABAKÇALI

Two days later from 14 July 1958 revolution General Nazım Tabakçalı was appoint the 2nd Division Commandership in Kerkük.According to the Tabakçalı’s reminiscence published many years later,there were two important things during his duty in Kerkük.The first thing was to keep Kerkük Petrol in safe.And the second thing was to make peace among different ethnic groups in the area.But it was revealed that secret reports were sent by Tabakçalı to Kasım by means of the military intelligence during negative situation occured in the area.One of the reports dated 9 September 1956 stated that ; “ Although Kerkük Citizens aren’t Kurds,they incorporated in to the Kurdistan areas.This policy’s reason is to dominate Petrol which is the National wealth of Iraq Republic.Setting up The Centre of The Kurdistan Education Directorate in Kerkük and exalting a Kurd arent definitely true. Education director working in Kerkük must be not only on Arabian,but also neutral and an equitable person.”

By means of the Iraq Military intelligence Tabaklı sent the congratulatory card delivered by Kurds,to Baghdad.Acorrding to these cards Barzani in his Russian Military Costume, has been accepted as the leader of Kurdistan.

Kerkük has been incorporated to Kurdistan and Kerkük Petrol has been accepted to belong Kurds.In addition to the information given in the report Tabakçalı’s aim is to Kurdify the Turks who constitute the Kerkük and gather the Kurds living around the other areas in the same city.He has informed that Unless these coming-ups are prevented,some serious results will occur.

Because of the events getting worse,Nizamettin Neftçi trying to drow attention to public opinion in Turkey advanced that a massacre which Turks might meet must have been taken into consideration.
