The Dögers is believed to have settled in Iraq with the other Oghuz Tribes and is mentioned in the documentary of 14.centrury. Following the collapsing of Mogol, the fights among the chiefs of Memluk accelerated. That the Turcmen densely populating in the religion joint the fight are also known. Meanwhile, Dögers were living in Caber under the control of Salim Bey. In 1383 the chief of Karakoyunlu Kara Mehmed, started a fight against Salim Bey as he had rubbed the Hadja of Musul which was belonged to Kara Mehmed. Having over than 12 thousand military force, Kara Mehmed beat Salim Bey gained a lot of gotsend after loating Döger's places. Saving his life with a great difficulty, he took shelter in governer of Halep in Musul. Leading an adverturous life and having an active role, Salim Bey was a famous Döger chief in 14. century. After the death of Salim Bey his son Dimaşk Hocca became the chief. He was killed in 1404 in a war and Gökçe Musa took his place. With the death of Dimaşk Hodja, the chief of Akkoyunlu Kara Yülük conquered Urfa and gave it to Yagmur Bey. But in an unknown date, he took back it and gave it to his nephew Nur Ali Bey whom he loved much. However, Yagmur Bey took help from Karakoyunlular in Musul as wanting Urfa given back, he was beaten by Kara Yülük Osman Bey. When Kara Yülük Osman Bey attacked Mardin belonged to Karakoyunlular, he faced with Iskender, the son of Kara Yusuf, in Şeyh-Kendi.
İskender Mirza prepared for this war in Kerkük where he settled. He came to Musul from Kerkük with his graps. Apart from the chief of Musul Yar-Ali, his son Zeynel Bey, his cousin Erbil's chief Mİrze Ali; some Dönder Beys were forced to join the war by the chief of Kerkük and Tauk (Tavuk) Cenekli Hasan.The violent war, happening among the groups that actually were brothers but at war were enemies, was happened in 1421 in April. At the war both sides fought with the greatest bravery that had never been seen before, but İskender was unique with his bravery and Karakoyunlular were far more experienced so all of these let them win the victory. Furthermore, as it is stated in some documentaries, the chief of Döger Gökçe Musa and his groups were thought to be the reason why they lost the war duty his abondaning their side and passing to Karakoyunlular. During the fight; an eminant chief of Akkoyunlu was taken prisoner and Kara Yülük was wounded.Despite being injured, Kara Yülük wanted to keep on fighting, but he was taken away by some of his troops.
İskender gave Musul to his father in-law Gökçe Musa, the chief of Döger, as he helped him and his father.In 1425, Gökçe Musa was the ruler of Musul and his brother of Caber.After being at the war, happening between his son in-law Karakoyunlu İskender and Şah-Ruh in Selmas Plain in 1429, he returned Musul.But he could not cope with Karakoyunlu İspend (Isfahan), who began to conquer regions of Iraq.Arab from his brother Şah Mehmed, so he left the city and took refuge with his troops in Bay-Bars the Sultan of Memluk.There was not much information known about the tribe belonging to Cenüklü Hasan, the chief of Kerkük and Tavuk explained above.However, a tribe belonging to the Ottoman is thought to be tied to those Döger Chiefs explained above and is supposed to be a remnant of them. In the deed inventery, belonged to Kerkük Brigade dated H.955 (M.1548), and 111 numbered, Döger Troop registered in 456 page was stated to be 45 families and 8 mücerred. And they also were stated to have been obliged to pay totally 6875 silver coins for tax.
Today, two groups called Döger are living in the religion of Turcmen tied to Tuzharmutu in Kerkük.One of them is the villages of Biravcılı locating 14km away from southeast of Tuzharmatu.The people consisting the population of the village are Körcalilar, Dögerler, Uncular, Kargabegler, Hilavlılar, İsmailliler. Another village, Yengice settled by the second Döger group locate in 6 km away from west of Tuzharmatu. And they are; İhtiyarlı, Derzili (Terzili), Berberli, Biravcılı, Kuşçu, Aşurlu, Alipesli, Hurmatili, Sofyalı, Naccarlı, Matıklı and Dögerli.
