Babur Shah that we have stated as a great intellectual man of letters and poet had been interested in all branches of fine arts and he had been successful in these branches. He would write beautiful letters, compose music and play stringed instruments. Furthermore, he had also invented an writing style called as Babur Calligraphy (Hatt-ı Babur) .

Babur has had a poem in rhymed couplets called as Mübeyyen pertaining to Hanafi canon jurisprudence, a work titled as Aruz Risalesi (Prosody Dissertation that gave information about the poems of the poets that were written in prosody, and a "divan" that compiled his various poets. However, the main unique work of Babur was his great book of journeys and memoirs that was called as "Baburname". In this work that was written with Chagatai dialect, Babur has described the places that he had visited and observed together with all their characteristics, and the traditions, customs, feelings and thoughts pertaining to those people living in those regions with a very fluent and natural style. He had explained the happiness and sadness caused by the good and bad sides and the historical realities of his period with a very sincere and a beautiful manner.

Our men of letters and historians consider this work "among the most beautiful prose works of not only the Turkish of Central Asia, but also the entire Turkish literature" in respect of the natural beauty of the language used. Some of them indicate it as "the most valuable work of memoirs of all the periods of Turkish history".

This work that has been translated into various foreign languages has been translated into the recent Turkish that we use by Prof Dr. Reşit Rahmetli Arat. This book was published for the first time by Turkish History Institution in two volumes in the years of 1943 and 1946 and it has been published in three volumes (totally 630 pages) among 1000 fundamental Works series pertaining to the Ministry of National Education in the year of 1970.
