Upon the death of Sultan Kilic Arslan I, his son, Sahinshah who was 11 years old was caught by Emir Cavli and taken to Isfahan. Upon these events, the throne of the Turkey Seljuks State was vacant. This situation undermined the Seljuks State. Particularly the Byzantine Emperor, Aleksios Komnenos and the Crusades and Armenians set in motion and captured some of the cities and castles that were dominated by Turks. In the year of 1110, Sahinshah returned to Anatolia and ascended the throne in Konya. Upon his enthronement as the sovereign of the state, Turks recovered within a short period and won some victories against the Byzantine and expanded their borders towards Aksehir (1113). In the year of 1116, the Emperor Aleksios Komnenos organised a general attack and advanced towards Aksehir and he defeated Sahinshah in the war that took place in this region. But, he gave the thought of the capture of Konya that was the main target of the military expedition and returned to Istanbul. Pursuant to the withdrawal of the Emperor, Sahinshah encountered the rebellion of his brother, Mes'ud. The struggles for the throne between the two brothers continued until the year of 1116 and Mes'ud ascended the throne of Konya through the support of his father-in-law, Danismendli Emir Gazi.
