This last victory that was won against the Crusades returned the security and prestige of the Seljuks again and showed the difficulty of the passage from Anatolia to the Crusades and the Byzantine. Nevertheless, Kilic Arslan and Danismend Ghazi who had collaborated before against the Crusades were on strained terms. Danismend Ghazi benefited from the occupation of Kilic Arslan and captured Malatya (1102). Meanwhile, the matter of ransom taken from Bohemond increased the discord much more. As a result, upon the death of Danismend Ghazi in the year of 1104, Kilic Arslan captured Malatya after a blockade of two months (2nd September 1106). Afterwards, he established the state of peace with the Byzantine emperor and assured the security of the western borders. Then, he captured Meyyafarikin that was dominated by Dokak, the ruler of Syria that dominated in the regions of Diyarbekir and Mosul. Upon these developments, Emir Cavli, Artukoglu Ilgazi and the Ruler Ridvan made an alliance against Kilic Arslan. Both sides fought over the river of Habur. In this battle that took place in June 1107, the troops of Kilic Arslan were defeated; he dived into the waters of Habur lest he would be taken prisoner, but he was drown due to the heavy weight of the armours. Sultan Kilic Arslan I is the real founder of Turkey Seljuks State. He spent all his life with the struggles against the Byzantine, the Crusades and he tried to establish the Turkish union in Anatolia. The Muslim and Christian resources of the period have agreed upon the fact that he was a fair and brave ruler.
