His real name is İbu Ali Hasan. He is one of the greatest statesmen of eastern history. He was not only a fair grand vizier, but also worked to spread science by establishing universities. He protected great artists and scholars, wrote precious books and showed the most right path to the rulers. He was called Nizamülmülk because of his such features meaning "Founder of countries' order".

Nizamülmülk was born in Tus city of Horasan in 1017, and was brought up by attending classes of the famous teachers of his day. His intelligence, knowledge and human virtues made him enter into Ruler of Belh Ali Bin Şadan's service. Afterwards, by entering into service of Seljukian State, which was being newly established, worked as the grand vizier and counselor of Davut Bin Mikail, Alparslan and Melikşah. All rulers were advising him to the succeeding one because of his superior skills.

Nizamülmülk has a great role in establishment and development and organization as a sound state of Seljukian state. He protected famous Hasan Sabbah and Omer Hayyam. He established two big science institutions in Baghdad and Isfahan. He tried to realize justice and wrote poems.

His valuable book named Siyasetname was translated into Western languages. The book was also published in our country. Nizamulmülk guides rulers and statesmen in this book via many examples and examines various aspects of state governance. For him "No ruler or decree-holder person can keep himself from reading this book". The greatest gift of a ruler to his people is justice. If people are content with just government, that country would survive and gain power everyday. No country can survive on persecution. The ruler should listen to the complaints of those subjected to oppression in person and take the right from the oppressor and give to the oppressed".

Nizamulmülk was killed with a dagger in 1096.
