gullari Principality
It is a Turkish principality that was founded in a coastal location between todays Bafra and Ordu that extended towards Niksar in the south. This principality was founded by Emîr Tâceddîn (1348), and its capital city was Niksar.
In the beginning, Taceddin Bey had been submissive to the emir of Amasya. He had successfully defended his country against Kadi Burhaneddin. The Trebizond Greek Emperor, Aleksios III had followed a hypocritical policy in order to provide the maintenance of his state against the Turkish principalities that got strengthened along the borders. He tried to establish friendly relationship with these principalities, but he tried to bring discord to them on the other hand. Taceddin was married with the daughter of the emperor in the year of 1381. This situation shows that he was an influential emir in that period.
Pursuant to the death of Taceddin Bey (1387), it has been observed that Kadi Burhaneddin had intervened in the state affairs of this principality.
Mahmûd Bey who was a member of this principality had been in the service of Ottoman State (1398). Pursuant to Ankara War (1402), Hüsâmeddîn Hasan Be established dominion under the protection of Timur. However, Hasan Bey had recognised that Amasya Bey connected to the Ottoman State wanted to capture his country and he did not have any chance but give the delivery of the regions that he dominated to him (1428). Therefore, Tâceddînogullari principality came to an end.
