The first activities of Turks in the Islam world had been observed within the structure of the Islam State. Since the period of the Caliph el-Me'mun, the Turkish Troops had played important roles in the suppression of the rebellions and the holy wars fought against the Byzantine. There was a complete dissolution in the world of Islam since the beginning of the century X. The dominion of the Abbasi caliphs that represented the central government were not valid in the regions out of Baghdad. The eastern provinces of the country were under the dominion of Samani State, and Hamdani people had gained their independence in Syria (929). We should mention about the more threatening ones, the Karmati people that occurred in Bahrain in 899 and dominated in Hedjaz and Syria in a short period and Shiite Fatimi caliphate that was founded in Tunisia in the year of 908 and invaded Cairo in 969 and dominated the northern Africa, Egypt, Syria and the western Arabia. On the other hand, Büveyhi people invaded Baghdad in the year of 945. The dissolution of the political union laid the foundation for the economical decline. While this disintegration was observed in the world of Islam, the Byzantine Empire started to gain its power and it continued its marauds against the Islam worlds and penetrated into some lands.
In the period when the Islam world was dissolved in a difficult situation, a new power aroused. Seljuk State that had attained its independency in the year of 1038 became the only political power in Iran upon the Dandanakan War in 1040. Seljuk State saved Baghdad from the domination of Büveyhi people. Then, this state provided the Abbasi caliphs with their spiritual dignity and respect and reinvigorated the spirit of holy wars through its military expeditions towards the Byzantine. Although the Anatolian holy wars that started in the period of the Caliph Omer lasted for centuries, they could not conquest this continent anyway. Seljuks vouchsafed this great conquest. The most significant stage in the establishment of the Anatolia as a Turkish Muslim country was Manzikert War that took place on the date of 26th August 1071. On this date on Friday, a prayer that had been arranged by the Abbasi caliph, bi'emrullah was delivered from the pulpits in the mosques of Islam countries.
This prayer indicates the significance of this war in respect of the date of the Islam world. In this prayer, it was stated that "My supreme Allah, Raise the Flag of Islam Do not deprive it of your gracious and endlessly effective support in order to maintain your religion with dignity and honour Support its army with your angels, and bring its intention and determination to an end with beneficence and success since it abandoned its comfort for the sake of your consent. He set out to this way in order to obey your orders together with his life and properties Bring him unexpected luck for victory Well! You, the Muslim people, pray and fulfil your ritual worship for Allah. My Supreme Allah, Facilitate all the difficulties in front of him and make the polytheists yield to its power."
