Yoruk Ali Efe, one of the heroes of National Struggle, was born in 1896 in Aydın. Yoruk Ali Efe, who was from Sarı Tekeli tribe of Aydin region yoruks, was one of the leading people of Kuva-yı Milliye (National Force) among Çerkez Ethem and Demirci Mahmet Efe.

He was 23 years old when he took part in National Fight. When he was sent to Caucasus front in 1916, he fled military service and took to the hills to join Molla Ali gang from Alanya. He replaced Molla Ali after his death in a conflict. While they were crossing Menderes River on a raft, the gang was trapped by gendarmerie and all members of the gang died. Only Ali Efe could save his life by cutting the rope of the raft and leaving himself to the flow.

He gave up being a brigand after this event and helped the government in bandit hunt. Ali Efe established a gang after Mondros Armistice, causing chaos. He made raids on Greeks by attending the national fight together with Killioglu Hüseyin Efe. Ali Efe's militia forces enhancing day by day called National Aydin Regiment, became very useful during the War of Independence and played an important role in saving Aydin from Greek invasion.

When the war was over, Ali Efe went to settle down in Kavakli Village of Yenipazar by spreading his gang. He lost his legs in a tram accident in Izmir and became crippled.
