Even if it's claimed that Salihis are the descendast of Salih b. Cemil relating to Cemil Tribes, we find this concept doubtful. This society known to have existence in 16.century, had 11 individuals.As for in the period of Murad the III., one of this society belonging to this group settled in Musul, the others settled in Kerkük. Salihis in Kerkük consisted of 20 bennaks and 2 mücerreds.
Today, Salihis consist of three big familiesliving in Kerkük.Furthermore,among the Turk settlements in Diyale city, the existence of a valley known as Salih Chief is noticed.
