As we have indicated before, the natural borders of Kaşgay Province are surrounded from every direction with steppes, waters, high hills and thick plant cover. Furthermore, this natural surrounding has great effects over the climate conditions in the region. The political borders of the region point mostly out towards the north and northwest sections. Beyond these borders are the borders of the Bahtiyari, Lor, Bayer, Ahmedi and the surrounding tribes. Kaşkay people had had some bloody struggles with Bahtiyari people and they had some agreements that defined their borders due to these struggles. These borders remained as the political borders. In the province of Huzistan that was the winter residence of Bahtiyari people, the area extending from Ramhürmüz towards the north remained as the winter residence of Bahtiyari people upon the agreement of the parties (Mescid-i Süleyman, Ramhürümz, Dezful, etc..). These regions have been known as the places where Bahtiyari people continued their economical and cultural activities so far. Kaşgay people have been dispersed to 17 provinces in the southern section of Iran. Therefore, the region to which they expanded includes a wide area of 186.180 km2. This area has been divided as a separate administrative region by the Iran government until recently and this region was divided into fifteen cities that included three hundreds of places of settlement.
