The Oppressions on the Turks living in Musul
The Baas Partys pressure on the Turks continued unabated. Lots of Turks were executed in Telafer the biggest district of Musul, in 1988. Halil İhsan Taki(mining engineer), Ali Asfar Hasan Taki(student of vocational school), Mehmet Hasan Taki(a high school student), Hatice Muhsin Al-i Vahap(housewife), Salim Hasan Taki(ranking police officer) and Adnan Muhsin Al-i Vahap (student of vocational school) were among these victims. Hatice Muhsin Vahap was the only woman among these. That she was executed though she was pregnant, showed the respect the Baas Government had for the human rights. In 1989, the Baghdad Government started to pressurise Musul Net . Especially the people, in the villages as Karatepe, Bazvaya, Gökçeli and Havraba in a region called Ortakol where the Zap River flows Dicle, had to leave the villages just because they were Turkmen Net. The Turks taken from these areas were settled in areas such as Harir in Süleymaniye and the other regions in the North of the country. Family Şakulis 6 members were executed in Selamiye one of the Turkish villages nearby Musul. Solider Ahmet Şakuli, Abdurrazzak Ahmet Şakuli and their brother were executed.
