Dukak had established the Damascus subsidiary of the Syrian Seljuks State in Damascus. On the other hand, the Emir Tug-Tegin who was in the service of the Ruler Tutus was taken prisoner by Sultan Berkyaruk and he was then set free. Then, Tug-Tegin was in the service of Dukak in Damascus and he was promoted as the commander of the army. Furthermore, he married to the mother of Dukak and he established dominion in the administration of the kingdom. Dukak had also struggled with his brother, Ridvan who wanted to capture Damascus and he fought with him. Upon the movement of the Crusades towards the Antioch, Yagi-basan who was the governor of the city asked help from the Seljuk State and its rulers in order to withstand the forces of the Crusades. The Ruler Dukak and Tug-Tegin were among the people that he had asked help from. The Ruler Dukak and Tug-Tegin came to Merc-i Dabik with a great army and then, they moved from this place towards Antioch under the command of Kur-Boga. When the Seljuk forces besieged Antioch that was under the dominion of the Crusades, the meeting of Kur-Boga with the diplomatic corps of Ridvan led the Ruler Dukak to get suspicious of him. As a result, Kur-Boga was not successful in the management of this Seljuk army. When the war with the Crusades broke out in front of the Antioch, the Ruler Dukak and the other emirs did not join the war and they returned to their countries (1098).
The Ruler Dukak continued to fight against the Crusades from that time on. When Raymon, one of the Crusade chiefs came in front of Tripoli with a little force, the Ruler Dukak attacked him, but he was defeated in this region in a crushing manner (1102). The celebrities of the city of Humus invited the Ruler Dukak to Humus for the defence of the city against the Crusades. Therefore, Dukak established dominion in Humus. Meanwhile, Raymond who threatened the city perceived that he could not withstand to Dukak and Tug-Tegin, and then, he retreated. The Ruler Dukak died in 1104.
The Tutor Tug-Tegin had firstly delivered prayers in the name of his son, Tutus who was nearly one year old. Then, he enthroned Dukas' brother, Ertas as the ruler who was twelve years old. However, Ertas who was afraid of Tug-Tegin ran away from Damascus (1104). Therefore, the Damascus branch of the Syrian Seljuks State was dissolved and it was replaced by the dynasty of Bori people.
