Türk Edebiyatı (Turkish Literature) magazine which started to be published in the precedence of Ahmet Kabaklı in which he wrote the editorial continues its publishing life since 15 January 1972. Türk Edebiyatı magazine included in the long lasting thought, art and literature magazines of Turkey had reached its 328th edition when he died. His last article in the 328th edition bears the name “Saraybosna’dan Mostar’a (From Saraybosna to Mostar)”. The magazine continues its national line in literature from the very first day of its publishing life. Ahmet Kabaklı stood as the protector of the youth gathering around Türk Edebiyatı magazine and caused bringing up a young group of men of letters, poets, and writers serving our literary and cultural life today. He was always appreciated and awarded for his determined and firm character and his telling and writing the truth by Turkish thought, art and literature world and occupational institutions. Some of numerous plates, gratitude certificates and awards he was granted are as follows: Thought award from National Culture Foundation with his book named "Bürokrasi ve Biz (Bureaucracy and Us)", thought award from Turkish Writers Union for his book named "Temellerin Duruşması (Session of Foundations)" which reached 20th edition today, Literature Award from Selçuk University and Konya Tourism Association with his book named "Mevlânâ"; Erciyes Magazine Literature Award for his books "Sohbetler l-ll (Talks I-II)" from Kayseri Writers Union; and Idealist Journalists Community Journalist of the Year 1978-1979 Article Success Award. One of the most meaningful awards for him is the title of "Şeyhülmuharrirîn (Sheik of journalists)" granted on 14 December 1996 in Ataturk Culture Center with attendance of a wide crowd of guests with contributions of 55 voluntary institutions.

Kabaklı expressed his feelings about this position he was awarded by saying “this cardigan of honor I am made to wear is a priceless gift from you to my family, grandsons and students”. Upon the proposal of Prof. Abdülkadir Donuk and promising of the minister of National Education of the term Prof. Mehmet Sağlam, his name was given to the Anatolian Teacher’s high School serving in the building where Çapa High Institute of Teachers which was educated and afterwards taught for years. However, upon giving up such application on the pretext that the name of living people cannot be given to institutions, such case saddened Kabaklı very much. This was because his name was given to the Anatolian High Institute of Teachers which is still called with the same name in Elazığ, where he was born and grown up and of which he worked hard for development. In addition, a lecture room in Fırat University was given his name. Ahmet Kabaklı, who always protected living Turkish and served for development of our language with his vast knowledge, worked also as definitively appointed member of Turkish Language Corporation as from 8 November 1995.

As a result, Ahmet Kabaklı passed 55 years of his lifetime of 76 to 77 years by writing and teaching, in other words serving Turkish people. He never gave up his responsibility for his nation and readers, never became pessimistic, and let his readers become so. He always lived as a learning and teaching person.
