When Prophet Mohammed raises to the sky on Burak, his winged-horse, he sees the prophets before him in the skies. He does not know one of them and asks Gabriel who he is. Gabriel says: "He is not a prophet. This is a spirit who will come down to earth three centuries after your death. This spirit, who will extend your religion in the Turkish land, will be named Abdulkerim Satuk Bugra Khan". After Prophet Mohammed came back to earth, he prayed for this person, who would extend Islam to the Turkish land, every day.

The friends of Prophet Mohammed also wanted to see this spirit. Prophet Mohammed prayed. Forty man on horses, with Turkish helmets and arms, saluted and got away. Three centuries after this happening, Satuk Bugra Khan was born as the son of Kashgar Sultan. On the day when Satuk Bugra Khan was born, the land was shaken and the gardens and meadows were filled with flowers although it was winter. The fortunetellers demanded that this child be killed, telling he would be Muslim when he grew up. Satuk Bugra Khan was saved by his mother who said them: "You will kill him when he becomes a Muslim."

Satuk Bugra Khan starts to go hunting with his friends when he is 12. One day when is out hunting, he gets far away from his friends while running after a rabbit. The rabbit, which had escaped, stops and takes the appearance of an old man. This old man, whom Satuk Bugra Khan understands to be Hızır (an immortal being reputed to come to the help of those in deep distress), advises him to become a Muslim and tells him about Islam. Satuk Bugra, wants his uncle, the ruler of Kashgar, to adapt Islam. The Kashgar Khan declares that he will not be a Muslim. With the sign of Satuk Bugra Khan, the land is down the middle and the ruler is buried in it. Satuk Bugra Khan becomes the ruler and all the Turkish countries adapt Islam under his rule. Satuk Bugra Khan spent his life fighting to extend Islam. According to the beliefs, Satuk Bugra Khan had a sword that became as long as forty steps when directed to the enemy and it spread fire during fight. When he was 96, he received an invitation from the God and for this reason, he returned to Kashgar and became sick and died.
